Two economic systems have been tried and both fail because we have never matched our number with real need for human labor based on improvements in efficiency brought on by the advent of machines. Socialism fails because many who share do not contribute and those who do contribute get nothing extra for their effort. Capitalism fails because the numbers of consumers exceed those of the producers and if you do not work you get nothing with which to purchase the necessities of life. Political systems have evolved to implement the economic systems and they range from Monarchy to Despotism to Democracy. The latter is by far the worst because when it is found not to work it is the most difficult to eliminate. They are all bound to fail when nature's reproducible assets are insufficient to fuel the population and exploit the assets nature has provided. Dr. Blanchard describes the workings of a Democracy and how, in order to maintain it, government has skewed the distribution of nature's assets to the benefit of those who own them. Government does this through the tax code to favor those who give them that power but have now lost control and have bankrupted us in the mercantile economy and are leading us to bankruptcy in the economy based on nature's reproducible assets.
