I have been most fortuitous in my business career building about four thousand multifamily homes, and also in my political career with seven wins and zero losses, but let me tell you, it could have been a disaster if I hadn't turned my life over to the Lord at age forty. With my youthful years including everything from car theft to breaking and entering, it was certainly Fortuitous that I stayed out of the North Carolina Juvenile Prison System.

Full Description

I have been most fortuitous in my business career building about four thousand multifamily homes, and also in my political career with seven wins and zero losses, but let me tell you, it could have been a disaster if I hadn't turned my life over to the Lord at age forty. With my youthful years including everything from car theft to breaking and entering, it was certainly Fortuitous that I stayed out of the North Carolina Juvenile Prison System. But it is more important to convey the fact that I now can see the Holy Spirit directing all of these events to get me to turn my life over to Him. The overall theme of this book is my transformation into a new person in Jesus, still a sinner but knowing where I am going. But as great as this is for me, readers probably are more interested in the details of some of the close calls of my youthful indiscretions. But even more fun will be describing some of the unforgettable characters that were with me in many of those escapades, both positive and negative. At the top of the list of these unforgettable characters are Duden, my wife of fifty-three years as of this writing, and my older brother Skellie, who died in 2012. At Skellie's funeral, my younger brother Rev. Hall Hunt said, "If Skellie is in Heaven, there is hope for us all." I'm sure he is there but his Christianity, although unapologetic, was sometimes very well concealed with "colorful" language and behavior. I'm dedicating this book to him.
