Full Description

This is a retelling of the Mary Shelley classic, Frankenstein. It has been adapted for adult literacy learners. The sentences are simple, short and with the exception of necessary words, do not contain words with more than two syllables. Each page has a few short sentences with lots of white space, which makes it easier for learners to see, will not fatigue their eyes and will not make the page overwhelming. Victor Frankenstein longs to cure diseases. If he can cure diseases then he can stop death. He uses his chemistry skills to create a man. Instead of a man, he creates a monster. The monster is lonely and longs for companionship. It begs Victor to create a mate for it but Victor refuses. The monster gets angry and kills Victor's friends and family. Mary Shelley has written a classic that asks the question, who is the monster? Victor? Or the thing he created.
