PHOENIX LOVE ARMENTA is an artist, activist, environmental justice organizer, and Woke Witch living in Oakland, CA. Armenta has worked on environmental, racial, and social justice campaigns around the world, including anti-nuclear organizing in Japan and India, homeless advocacy in San Francisco, and multiple civic engagement and political campaigns throughout the Bay Area. Through their work on political campaigns, they have helped to get multiple progressive people of color into political office. Armenta is the co-founder of the New Leaders Council Oakland, a professional leadership development organization; and Woke Witch, an earth based spirituality lifestyle brand. They currently work as a teacher with the Mycelium Youth Network and as the Community Air Liaison for the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project. Armenta holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Howard University and M.A. in Energy and Resources from UC Berkeley, with a specialty in Environmental Justice and Social Movement Theory.
