Amanda Stokes

Amanda Stokes is a mother, an educator, and a mentor in the field of inter-generational body image and well-being, with 15 years' experience working with children and adolescents within the education and healthcare systems. As a result of living with her own mother's battles with food and negative body image, she developed her own 20-year eating disorder. When she noticed the impact she was having on her six year old daughter, she knew things needed to change. As the founder of the Mirror Movement, she now specialises in working with mothers who yearn for their pre-teen daughters to feel confident about their bodies, yet who are themselves trapped in a cycle of shame and self-loathing around food and body image.
