Elizabeth Fleet

Elizabeth Fleet was born in England and embarked on her own adventure to Canada in 1966. What initially was meant to be a two-year sojourn turned into a lifetime adventure.

Elizabeth was educated at Cambridge and Bristol Universities in England and worked as a teacher in Prince Rupert, Terrace and Castlegar, British Columbia. She has also served on the boards of Selkirk College, the Open Learning Agency/Knowledge Network of British Columbia and Royal Roads University. Her poetry and prose have been read on CBC Radio, but this is her first published collection. Elizabeth enjoys music, cooking and hiking with her husband and friends in Castlegar, B.C., and she also, more privately, enjoys writing. She notes: People often sew, knit or garden for satisfaction and for fun. My search for fulfilment and enjoyment has been in creating tapestries and designing flower beds with words!
