Thomas Doherty is professor of American studies at Brandeis University. His previous books include Hollywood and Hitler (Columbia University Press, 2013); Pre-Code Hollywood: Sex, Immorality, and Insurrection in American Cinema, 1930-1934 (CUP, 2009); Cold War, Cool Medium: Television, McCarthyism, and American Culture (CUP, 2005); and Hollywood's Censor: Joseph I. Breen and the Production Code Administration (CUP, 2009).
