It's very common for authors to sign bookplates rather than directly on the pages of their books, because it saves them time and money but still allows readers to receive customized copies. However, it's very fitting for Neil deGrasse Tyson, author of To Infinity and Beyond: A Journey of Cosmic Discovery, to be the one to go above and beyond and sign his name directly on 100 copies of the books that Porchlight sent to fans who pre-ordered.

To make this happen, Porchlight built the webpage from which Neil DeGrasse Tyson’s fans preordered copies. Then, we shipped out the books in time for publication day, and sent out email invitations for the author’s exclusive livestream, too.
