Join Lucy and her bird friend Yiggy on their quest for elusive birds in the Costa Rican rainforest.

Lucy is on the lookout for an elusive bird in the Costa Rican rainforest, where she lives with her family. In particular, she's looking for a potoo, a stick bird that's known for its camouflaging skills, which would be a new addition to Lucy's life list of bird species. With her bird friend Yiggy by her side, Lucy uses her trusty binoculars and her field guide to identify birds she has seen before, like Rufous-tailed Hummingbirds and Scarlet-rumped Tanagers, and some she hasn't, such as the Snowy-bellied Hummingbird and the Speckled Tanager.

Join Lucy and Yiggy on their quest through the jungle as they share information about each bird species they encounter, including how these birds-and Lucy-can help the local ecosystem. Lucy loves the challenge and decides she wants to be an ornithologist, or bird scientist, when she grows up. She also learns that simply by showing up and never giving up, she will always find something wonderful... or wacky... or unexpected... out in nature.
