Volume III is a history of the ancestors of Armena (Mott) Allen, who were early residents and often founders of the first towns of Connecticut Colony. It includes stirring accounts of participation in critical battles in the War of 1812, involvement in colonial religious controversies, accounts of popular innkeepers, and transcripts of treasured letters between family members, some of whom were early California immigrants.
