Born in Fresno California, Renee was adopted by an aunt and moved to the small Air Force based town of Indian Springs, Nevada. Growing up in a small mobile home with an abusive alcoholic stepfather, her only refuge was her tiny 7' X 7' room with a folding cot for a bed. Constantly searching for ways to escape the small four walls of her turbulent life, Renee learned to find peace in spending time outdoors in nature; later capturing the comfort she found there through her wonderful photography and writing. Even as a small child it was a way to put her pain into words and give herself hope that she could find her way, OUT OF DARKNESS.
