Nick Bland always wanted to be a writer and a cartoonist, but it wasn't until he started working in a bookstore and rediscovered children's literature that he found a way to channel this ambition. He is the author of The Runaway Hug (Le câlin volé) and The Magnificent Tree (L'arbre bric-à-brac) and author and illustrator of The Fabulous Friend Machine (La merveilleuse machine à se faire des amis), King Pig (Le roi Salami), Monster Chef (Un chef monstre), A Monster Wrote Me a Letter (J'ai rendez-vous avec un monstre), Some Dads (Ah! les papas!), Some Mums (Ah! les mamans!), Twinkle (Ma petite étoile), The Unscary Book (Sortez de mon livre!) and the Cranky Bear (Gros Ours) picture books. Nick lives in the jungle near Darwin, Australia.
