About McCaffrey Frances

Born in 1951, Frances grew up in Birmingham, Michigan, the fourth of six children. She joined the National Touring Company of Charles Gordone's Pulitzer Prize winning play, No Place to be Somebody, cutting short her second year at Wayne State University. The dream of becoming a film actress fueled her through four challenging years in New York City and another ten in L. A (five of which were spent as a limousine chauffeur in Hollywood), before her world was rocked by a unique idea for a candle. Flash forward and she is the CEO of The Treasure Candle, Inc. grossing more than three million in sales. The happy family business lasted for a decade but with the saturation of the market and copycats abounding, the business wavered and was ultimately sold. Frances then entered into a business opportunity with a trusted associate who invited her to be a ground-floor investor and a sales representative for his new ATM enterprise. It worked out great and she prospered over the course of the next seventeen years, never doubting its legitimacy. However, in September of 2014, the Security Exchange Commission was tipped off that something was amiss and soon exposed the terrible truth-it was nothing more than a Ponzi scheme; one of the longest running in U. S. history. In a single day, she lost her life savings, her entire income, and faith in herself. But what was worse than all of that was knowing that she was the channel through which most of her family members, dear friends, and many friends of friends, came into the investment-and most of them were hit hard by the collapse as well. She wanted to curl up and die...but opted to write her life story instead. Her hope is that you might be entertained by her adventures, emboldened by her courageous choices, and enlightened by her mistakes-and that you be spared the pain of ever being scammed. Frances currently lives in Los Angeles where she is devoting herself to a new dream-that of being a writer.
